CARACAS, Venezuela (AP)—Nicolas Fedor scored in the 87th minute to lift Venezuela to a 1-0 victory over South American neighbor Ecuador in an international friendly Tuesday.
Venezuela had the advantage from the opening whistle nfl throwback jerseys
with Ecuador attempting to counterattack in the match at Barquisimeto, located about 350 kilometers (200 miles) west of the Venezuelan capital Caracas.
Venezuela was coming off a 4-0 loss on Saturday to Colombia, while Ecuador defeated Mexico 2-1 on Saturday. Neither Venezuela nor Colombia qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
